Frequently asked questions

  • Currently, I am not a part of any insurance panels. My past working experience with insurance companies made me realize that these companies usually dictate the level of treatment a client receives, the frequency, and the level of work that is done. Also to bill a client, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis, which may not be appropriate and might have long-lasting effects on the individual. Working without insurance companies, allows me to protect your privacy and gives you complete control over your healing journey. However, I am happy to work with you in seeking reimbursement from your insurance, if they cover out-of-network providers. It is also important to speak to your insurance company beforehand to know whether your insurance plan covers therapy. Many insurance plans do not cover marital problems unless there is a diagnosis in one or both partners.

  • Therapy sessions can last anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes depending on the type of therapy you are receiving. In counseling, there is no such thing as one size fits all. I collaborate with my clients to tailor personalized plans that meet their individual and unique needs. We can meet anywhere from 8 to 20 sessions, but depending on your progress if you require more time, we can surely adjust to that. The number of sessions will depend on the type of change you’re looking for, how deep the hurt runs, your commitment to change, and the complexity of the problem.

  • If you decide that I may be the right therapist for you, you can give me a call at 813-606-5683 to schedule your first session. Be sure to leave a message and I will call you back promptly.

  • You can pay by check or credit card. I accept Visa and MasterCard.

  • If you are ready to make a change and your partner is apprehensive about it, know that it is absolutely okay to take the first step alone. The presence of both the partners is not necessary in order to bring a change, however, it is preferred.

  • I offer a 15 minutes free consultation to address any concerns and questions you might have. I understand that finding the right person who is capable of providing the kind of help you require is important. My fee for individual therapy is $120.00, for couple’s therapy is $150.00, and for families is $160.00.

  • Yes. I provide both face-to-face and online sessions. Research has demonstrated that online sessions carry a lot of benefits including travel time elimination, parking issues, and scheduling conflicts with your partner. I recommend you have a 15 minutes video consultation to address any further questions or concerns you or your partner might have regarding online sessions.

  • Absolutely! They are just as effective and evidence-based as meeting in person. All the subtleties of facial expressions and body language can be detected through video just as they can in person.

  • Yes! I offer appointments on Saturdays for couples and individuals.
