Premarital counseling

I believe in preventative measures. A newly engaged couple may be filled with joy in having found love and another with whom to share their lives. However, some fears and anxieties may also be present. Feelings of joy and excitement may overshadow more practical concerns. Details involving finances, shared responsibilities, sexual relations, love maps, and co-parenting are among important considerations when partners join together. As a professional premarital counselor, I can help you gain the necessary tools needed to communicate effectively with one another and gain a better perspective on these issues. In turn, this may help eliminate future misunderstandings and unnecessary hurts.

Family therapy

Anxiety

Everyone experiences nervousness or anxiousness during certain times in their lives, like a new leadership role, learning something new, or public speaking. However, when anxiety becomes frequent, and uncontrollable, it can take over your life. Anxiety can cause extreme physical discomfort: pounding heartbeat, excessive sweating, tunnel vision, dizziness, dry mouth and shaking. Then there’s the mental turmoil like, worrying about every single thing, anticipating future problems, distressing and intrusive thoughts, racing thoughts, inability to focus, insomnia and paranoia.

There are also many different forms of anxiety, such as, generalized anxiety, panic attack, phobia, and social anxiety.

Trauma

You will be more self-aware, start to reconnect with yourself and others, sleep better, and begin to laugh and smile more often. As treatment progresses, you will gain the tools necessary help your body heal and respond appropriately to negative emotions.
